  • I’m in awe of people who go through life following these principles. I do my best, but I’m still evolving, making mistakes, correcting, little failures, learning, progressing and becoming more aware.

Let’s look at “being impeccable with your word”. Speak with integrity, do not use words to speak ill of yourself or others, or to gossip about others. Use the power of words in the direction of truth and love. Not Always easy for many of us, but I think acting on this principle make life lighter, and healthier.
The big one for me is: “don’t take anything personally”. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. When you are immune to the opinion and actions of others, you won’t be a victim of needless suffering. I’m getting better with this one principle. Our ego is always the one that kicks in when we take things personally. My relationship with my husband and my family taught me a lot about not taking things personally.

“Don’t make assumptions”. How many times have we been guilty of this? Find the courage to ask questions and express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can transform your life. “Always do your best”

This principle is my favourite. The most will change from moment to moment; it will be different when you’re healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstances simply do your best, and you will avoid self- judgement, self abuse or regret.

Would you rather feel the pain of the effort of doing anything you set out to do or the pain of regret? “There’s no try; only do or not do”. -Yoda. Honestly, I rarely believe it when some people say, “Ok, I will try”.

But I won’t take it personally.

The FOUR AGREEMENT is about being a Toltec which means an artist. We tell our stories every moment of our lives. What are you writing about yourself at this moment? We are all creators just like God. This is what it means to be made from His/Her image.
May you all create an brilliant life!
