  • A Metro-Vancouver nonprofit dedicated to helping the less fortunate continues to touch the lives of many.

More people are going to benefit from the work of the Golden Gift From The Heart For People In Need Society as it recently accepted a generous donation and grew its ranks with new members.

Golf enthusiast and entrepreneur Jo Bautisa donated $2,500 to the group known also by its short name as Golden Gift From The Heart in an event held at the Grandt Kitchen restaurant in Surrey.

Bautista’s donation will go a long way in helping improve the lives of the needy in the Philippines.

The contribution from Bautista comes as Golden Gift From The Heart also expanded its ranks with new members Ramon Bandong, Boy Tam, and Jojo Alpuerto.

With Bandong, Tam and Alpuerto on board, the nonprofit will be in a better position to do more charitable works.

Golden Gift From The Heart was established by Metro Vancouver residents and Filipino Canadian community members Rey Fortaleza, Francis Penalosa, Bert Parungao, and Mario Hernandez. The group was later joined by Carlito Pablo.

The group seeks to extend a helping hand to people in distress, particularly individuals dealing with physical and mental disabilities.

Golden Gift has been busy gathering donations, including items like clothes, wheelchairs, walkers, and canes.

In the Philippines, Golden Gift From The Heart has partnered with radio station DZRH through its Operation Tulong [Help] under broadcaster Mae Binauhan.
