  • A sad end has come to the search for a man missing in Richmond since Boxing Day. The family of Ephraigm Flores have confirmed the 23-year-old was found dead by police in Richmond on
New Year ’s Eve. Flores’ mother Gloria says she was devastated by the news. “And my heart is really aching, torn into pieces. My son was bright, kind, generous, he’s a scholar. A good son to his mother,” Gloria said.

The family launched a crowd funding campaign to fly Flores’ body home to Toronto for a funeral.
In a post written by a relative, the fundraiser stated: “For the past few days, the Flores family spent the
    holidays looking for Ephraigm.

He was lost. He was missing and everyone even people we do not know tried to search for him. In behalf of our family, thank you for all the efforts, it means a lot to us. Now, we found him. But, the situation was not what the family expected.”

The RCMP began a search after Flores was last seen in Richmond on Boxing Day returning from a concert in Vancouver. The B.C. Coroners Service said RCMP divers recovered his body from a pond in a park on December 31.

Police and the coroner are continuing to investigate the death, which is not considered suspicious. Katrina Pernito-Flores, a relative, wrote on the gofundme fundraiser site: “Thank you for the outpouring support you all have given to Ephraigm. We thank you so much to those who gave and shared their blessing.

To the anonymous ones, to the people who paid respect and do not know Apot, and especially to the people who was touched by Apots life, thank you.” Pernito-Flores also wrote: “Thank you for the outpouring support you all have given to Ephraigm. We thank you so much to those who gave and shared their blessing. To the anonymous ones, to the people who paid respect and do not know
Apot, and especially to the people who was touched by Apots life, thank you. We are now closing the donation for gofundme.”
