  • sharon-cunetaWhat feud? Sharon Cuneta said she and Richard Gomez, her leading man on the upcoming TV5 sitcom “My Pirated Family”, were both stumped by the rumor that they had been feuding, allegedly causing a delay in the show’s debut. “Nagtataka kaming pareho. Saan galing iyon? Because someone asked him nga raw and he said it never happened. So hindi ko alam… parang you know?” the megastar told News5.

“My Pirated Family” will premiere on TV5 once “Confessions of a Torpe” has finished its run.

Sharon spent Mother’s Day with another act of philanthropy for the benefit of Yolanda victims in Visayas and Mindanao. On top of the P5.5 million she had already donated to Alagang Kapatid Foundation during the TV5 telethon last November, she facilitated another P2 million donation over the weekend, courtesy of a children’s medication brand that she endorses.

“The Visayas and Mindanao region has been very kind to me since i was twelve. I want to make them feel loved,” Sharon said.
She expressed confidence in the ability of the MVP group of companies’ charity arm to deliver the donations to the people on the ground.
“I’m glad I have met Alagang Kapatid because now I am proud to say lahat ng dapat makarating ay nakakarating,” she noted.

By default, Sharon has been thrust back into the political arena with the recent appointment of her husband, former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, as the new Presidential Assistant for food security and agricultural modernization. Once again, she admitted her personal discomfort about having a politician for a husband.

“I was always reluctant, that was never a secret. Parang lagi akong may angst na as my duty as a wife eto na naman ikakampanya ko siya,” she confessed. “Ngayon, actually I don’t know. God put it in my heart na I have more than a hundred percent for him.” She noted the difference in her husband’s new role in government, which is related to his personal passion for farming and agriculture. He had spent his two-year hiatus from politics farming and building an agri-business.

In fact, she said the interest in agriculture now runs in the family. “And my children it’s so nice they grew up knowing where their food comes from, and they are humbled by that. So he knows what he is talking about, he also has done so much research,” she said.

Besides, she had been able to prove during his hiatus that he loved her more than politics. “Sige na tanggapin mo na ngayon sigurado na ako na mas mahal mo ako kaysa diyan sa pulitika,” she told him when she told him of the offer from Malacanang. (Interaksyon)
