  • SamMilbyVallejo, California-Kapamilya star Sam Milby is celebrating his tenth year in show business this year. As an accomplished star in the Philippines, Milby has been trying to break into Hollywood by auditioning for different pilots while taking acting classes in Los Angeles. Though he has not received a role yet, Milby plans to continue chasing after his dream by becoming a better actor.

“Even till now I still get a lot of emails about auditions from LA but it’s really hard to schedule. Earlier this year, when I stayed in LA, it was more for networking, meeting people, and for the classes because it’s a different world here. It’s Hollywood. Also, I want to grow as an actor so when I go back to LA, I want to take more classes from different acting coaches,” said Milby.
Through the experiences he has had in LA so far, Milby said it’s been worth the opportunity.

“There’s a big demand for different ethnicities for different roles. It’s a good time to be around, to be Filipino, to be in the diverse crowd. It’s for the experience. For me, if nothing ever happens, just going through the process and meeting the people and doing the auditions I think that alone you learn a lot,” he  said.

While breaking into Hollywood is still the goal, Milby is still hard at work with other upcoming projects.

“I do want to get a heads up. I have a teleserye I got going on later this year on primetime but I can’t give you more details. Then I have a movie also with Jennylyn Mercado, first time with her. I just wanted to give an update on projects and hopefully an album this year,” he said.
