  • After giving birth to Baby Letizia last November 23, 2015, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is back.

GMA Network announced her much-awaited return to primetime at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, February 16.

According to GMA Network’s SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, Marian will reprise the role of Ynang Reyna, originally portrayed by Dawn Zulueta in the 2005 version of the hit fantaserye.

Ynang Reyna is the queen and mother of the four main characters or the “sang’gres”.

Encantadia’s story revolves around the four “sang’gres” or princesses who are tasked of guarding four elemental gems to maintain the balance in the kingdom.

The show starred Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Karylle and Diana Zubiri.

“Encantadia” is a story about four sisters portrayed by Pirena (Dizon), Amihan (Calzado), Alena (Karylle) and Danaya (Zubiri). They are guarding four gems which represent fire, air, water and land; maintaining the balance in the land of Encantadia.

A photo which has made rounds on social networking sites allegedly showed the four actresses who might play the roles of the four “sang’gres”. They are Kylie Padilla, Glaiza De Castro, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez.

The  ”Encantadia” 2016 remake is set to air later this year.
