  • MANILA – Actress Angelica Panganiban revealed that she underwent another hip surgery to cure her avascular necrosis.

According to Mayo Clinic, avascular necrosis is “the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply.”

In her latest vlog uploaded over the weekend, Panganiban explained why she decided to undergo another hip surgery, months after she did core decompression.

The actress said she returned to her doctor, saying she actually felt worse.

“After a month kong nag-bed rest, after month noong surgery bumalik kami sa doctor. Kasi kung walang paraan at ‘yun na talaga ‘yung situation ko, then I have no choice. But kung may paraan, ‘yon ang hindi ko matatanggap,” Panganiban said.

The actress said the sudden death of her mom pushed her to find another way to address her condition.

Kung ano ang sa tingin mong tama, you have to fight for it,” Panganiban added.

Panganiban said that she was able to walk five hours after she underwent her second surgery.

“Nakakagulat kasi right after my surgery within five hours nakalakad ako. Kung may iba pa akong nararamdamang pain like ‘yung avascular necrosis pain, nawala talaga ‘yon on my left side. So ‘yung right ko naman eto siyempre nag-work ‘yung core decompression kasi hindi pa siya stage 3,” Panganiban said.

During the last round of her physical therapy after her second hip surgery, Panganiban shed happy tears.

“Naiiyak ako. … Happy wala ng sakit eh,” Panganiban said.

Panganiban will be updating her fans soon about the progress of her recovery. (abs-cbn)
