Angel Locsin gives out cash aid; other artists join donation calls for Rolly victims

    Linggo, November 1, nang manalasa sa mga rehiyon ng Bicol at Calabarzon ang pinakamalakas na bagyo sa mundo ngayong taon..

    Pinakamatinding nasalanta ang mga bayan ng Albay, Catanduanes, at Camarines Sur sa Bicol.
    At press time, nasa 24 na ang kumpirmadong nasawi sa bagyo habang mahigit 2 milyong katao naman ang apektado.

    Ito ay ayon sa updated report ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) nitong Martes, November 3.

    Kaagad namang kumilos sina Angel, 35; Catriona, 26; Enchong, 31; at Gretchen, 30, upang matulungan ang mga biktima ng Rolly gamit ang kani-kanilang social media pages.

    ANGEL GIVES OUT CASH AID

    Si Angel ang Kapamilya actress-philanthropist na kilala sa agarang pagsaklolo sa mga nasalanta ng kalamidad sa bansa sa nakalipas na mga taon.
    Sa katunayan, napabilang si Angel sa prestihiyosong 2019 heroes of Philantrophy list ng Forbes Asia magazine dahil sa pagtulong sa mga biktima ng kalamidad sa nakalipas na dekada.

    Para sa mga sinalanta ng Rolly nitong weekend, nagbukas si Angel ng Facebook page, ang Typhoon Rolly Assistance Initiative.

    Nakasaad sa announcement ni Angel sa kanyang official Facebook, Instagram, at Twitter pages na magbibigay siya ng PHP1,000 cash aid sa 1,000 sinalanta ng bagyong Rolly.

    “Though we would like to reach out to everyone who are in need, our resources are limited and can only accommodate the first 1,000 valid request,” saad sa social media post ni Angel.

    Kailangan lang na i-video ng sinalanta ng bagyo ang kasalukuyang sitwasyon nito at ipadala iyon, bilang private message, sa Typhoon Rolly Assistance Initiative page.
    Sa orihinal na post, sinabi ni Angel na hanggang November 3 lang tatanggapin ang mga requests for financial assistance.

    Pero pinalawig ng aktres ang deadline hanggang ngayong Miyerkules, November 4, dahil “a lot of areas still don’t have electricity and no means of communication.”

    CATRIONA ASKS FOR DONATIONS FOR RED CROSS

    Cash donations ang pakiusap ni Catriona sa kanyang 10.6 million Instagram followers para makatulong sa “response operations” ng Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) sa mga binagyo sa Bicol.

    Bicolana si Catriona, ang ikaapat na Pinay Miss Universe at ambassadress ng PNRC.
    Ayon sa beauty titlist, naka-deploy ngayon ang Disaster Management Team ng Red Cross sa Bicol para sa isinasagawang “rescue and relief operations” doon.
    Malaking tulong na raw, ayon kay Catriona, ang PHP100 na donasyon para sa mga sinalanta ng Rolly.

    Post ni Catriona: “Your 100 pesos can help the Red Cross in preparing for food and hygiene kits for evacuees, contribute in building homes, or provide cash assistance to the affected families.”

    ENCHONG PREFERS IN-KIND DONATIONS

    Gaya ni Catriona, Bicolano rin ang actor-model-entrepreneur na si Enchong.
    Sa isang Instagram Story nitong Lunes, umapela si Enchong sa mga gustong “makisabay ng tulong para sa mga kababayan natin sa Bicol.”
    Donations “in kind and not in cash” ang hiling ng aktor sa kanyang 2.2 million Instagram followers.

    Kabilang sa mga hiling ni Enchong ang hygiene kits, tulad ng sabon, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste; at food packs, gaya ng bigas, instant noodles, at canned goods.

    GRETCHEN USES PLATFORM FOR DONATION DRIVE

    Ang TV host-athlete na si Gretchen, ginamit ang Twitter para magsilbing boses ng iba’t ibang organisasyong kumakalap ng donasyon para sa mga sinalanta ng Rolly sa Bicol at Batangas.

    Ilang oras makaraang humupa ang pananalasa ng Rolly nitong Linggo ng gabi, nag-tweet si Gretchen para sa donation drive ng Ateneo de Manila University.
    Unang nakilala ng publiko si Gretchen bilang volleyball player ng Ateneo Lady Eagles.
    Kinabukasan, November 2, nag-tweet din si Gretchen ng suporta para sa target ng World Vision Philippines na matulungan ang 10,000 pamilyang apektado ng Rolly.
    Kumalap din ng donasyon si Gretchen para sa Waves for Water Philippines, na magbibigay ng malinis na inuming tubig sa mga binagyo. (pep)
