  • ria-jade (1)Ria Jade, 16 year old teen sensation star of Shaw Multicultural Channel’s TV show, EveRIAthing, is coming to Langley as part of her CITY LIGHTS multi city concert tour. Everyone—young and old—is invited for a night of great music, dancing and the grand opening of the newly renovated Super Buffet Restaurant on 5744 Glover Road on Friday March 22, 2014 at 7 pm. Ria Jade’s concert, also featuring exciting local artists, MJ Ancheta, Darren Exley, The Reprise Band and special guest and M.C., Judi Vankevich aka The Manners Lady, is being sponsored by Reyfort Media, owned by Rey Fortaleza, former Olympic boxer for the Philippines, The Langley International Festival and local Rotary Clubs.

The Langley concert is part of a tour that kicked off in Whitehorse in November and a sold out Valentine’s Concert in February. Judi noted, “It’s great that Langley is part of Ria’s ‘City Lights’ tour and it’s exciting to see dynamic young artists like Ria who have a passion for music and a passion for blessing other people.”

Ria Jade, whose parents immigrated to Canada from the Philippines, was so grieving for the people of the Philippines devastated from the typhoon a few months ago, that she organized a fundraising concert to raise money for the Red Cross’ work in helping the communities rebuild. A feature of this “City Lights” concert tour is to say “thank you” to Langley for our generosity and compassion for the people of the Philippines . With the help of the Filipino community across the Fraser Valley, they were able to raise over $25,000 to help the Filipino people start to rebuild their lives.

Shar Dubas, Founder of the Langley International Festival and the new Director of Canada Day Celebrations, said, “We’re proud to support our rising young talent like Ria Jade, Darren Exley and the Reprise Band. It’s going to be a great night of music, dancing and a gourmet meal from Super Buffet. We’re glad to support our local businesses.”

Terry Smith, President of the Langley Rotary Club at Newlands, added, “As Rotarians, we’re proud of our young people who are making a difference by giving back to the community, and we’re glad to support Ria Jade and Judi Van kevich’s ‘City Lights’ concert and dance.

Ria Jade, is a rising star in the Canadian entertainment scene. She was the only B.C. artist who who made it to one of four Wild Card Auditions for YTV’s 2012 The Next Star. Ria was also featured on the One Direction website as one of 7 favourite covers and on MuchMusic TV. For her City Lights Concert, Ria brings a band of young and talented musicians to join her on stage—Dennis Tokmakov, Mason Tuffin and Ryan Lintott.

Vinh Mai, Owner of Super Buffet, noted, “We’re delighted to celebrate our Grand Opening with Ria Jade and her dynamic team of young artists. And we hope that all our guests enjoy our delicious new menu.”
