  • Ian Zeta’s journey is a testament to her resilience and passion as a budding artist in Canada. From her early days in the Philippines, where she began singing at just six years old, music has been a constant in her life. Balancing school with lessons at the Center for Pop Philippines, Ian performed in a theatre adaptation of *Beauty and the Beast* in China—a defining moment that deepened her love for the arts.

After moving to Canada, Ian studied Music Business Management and co-wrote an EP, *In Full Bloom*, with her friend Patty. Their debut at the Pinoy Playlist Music Festival and promotion on CNN Philippines marked significant milestones in her journey. Ian is excited to continue exploring her artistic path and sharing her love for music.

Cultural identity plays a vital role in Ian’s performances. She passionately promotes Original Pilipino Music (OPM), believing in the importance of sharing Filipino stories in Vancouver’s multicultural landscape. By incorporating elements of her heritage into her music, she celebrates her roots while embracing diverse influences.

Initially arriving in Canada as a tourist, Ian faced uncertainty about pursuing her passion. However, the support from the Filipino community, mainly through organizations like UPAABC and encouragement from friends like Tita Rhona and Ate Bella, inspired her to keep chasing her dreams. Their kindness reminded her of the unifying power of music.

Finding her unique voice in the music industry has also been a challenge. Initially pressured to conform to trends, she shifted her focus to self-reflection and experimentation, allowing herself to explore various sounds. This journey has brought her closer to understanding her authentic artistry.

Her connection to the Filipino community has been instrumental. Through Tita Rhona, Ian met supportive individuals who enriched her journey, deepening her appreciation for her heritage and inspiring her to embrace diverse narratives.

Ian views success as evolving from personal milestones to positively impacting her community. She leverages technology, utilizing digital audio workstations and social media to reach wider audiences.

Ultimately, Ian hopes to inspire fellow artists to embrace their authentic selves and share their unique stories. “Never lose sight of your dreams,” she advises, emphasizing perseverance and authenticity. Through her music, she reminds us that our differences are strengths, and by uplifting one another, we can create a vibrant, supportive community.
