Glitz and glamour. Brawn and a bravery.  Hot babes and fast cars.  All this and a lot more are on display as Universal Pictures revs up The Fate of the Furious. So ladies and gentlemen brave those sky high gas prices and pilot your bat mobile, Aston Martin DB5 or whatever set of wheels you possess or hop on a bus or bike or walk down to your friendly neighbourhood Cineplex cinema and the Fifth Avenue Cinemas. But do so at your peril as chances are theatres across B.C. Will be standing room only for this crowd pleasing adventure.

Without question people line up for this sort of movie for the thrill and action. To keep the momentum going you need more than car chases and first fights. You need a good fresh story and again the filmmakers here have exceeded expectations. And having the  recently “opened-up” Cuba as a starting point sets just the right time for the fun that’s to follow.

Almost all of the team from the past few Furious films are back in The fold. This time however one of the crew goes rogue. Why on earth does the main man himself, Dominic Toretto decide to give up crime fighting for a life if crime. Funny, wasn’t this how the original film began? Ah, but I digress. Never second guess  Vin Diesel as our Dom winds up fighting his own team, a comely cyber bully and much of the free ( and not so free) world in a quest to save the day. One can only imagine how all these antics will go down at The Kremlin and in Vlad (the bad) Putin’s mind.

Superb stunts, great quips and interplay between all the cast, sparkling dialogue and enough testosterone to fuel the  biggest blowhard make The Fate of the Furious a whale of a good time. And with a cast that includes Charlize Theron, Jason Statham and Kurt Russell and you won’t go wrong.  And forget about the woes of United Airlines. This movie has action on the ground, in the air and below the sea.
