  • On Tonight with Boy Abunda, two of the stars of the movie Achy Breaky Hearts, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, shared their first impressions of each other.

“The first time I saw Jodi was there in that workshop (for Be Careful with my Heart), feeling ko parang tahimik siya so hindi ko siya ma-gauge at that time,” Richard recalled. Asked if he was intimidated with the actress in any way, “no naman. Mabait si Jodi pero di ko lang siya kilala.”

Jodi shared she remembers thinking, “mukhang mabait naman ‘tong taong ‘to.”

The love team also admit they share a love for traveling with their respective families. “We want to go to places we’ve never been before,” Richard said. “Like this year we’re going to Spain. I haven’t been to Spain. We want to explore new places, and with the places we’ve been to before, if we like the place, we like to go back again.”

When traveling, Jodi is not that particular with her travel wear, “mas importante sa akin yung kumportable ako sa suot. Hindi ko uunahin yung ootd, yung importante sa akin yung comfort – yung kung anong mas makakalakad ka, mas magaan bitbitin. Kasi may bata akong kasama so mas inuuna ko ang mga dala kong gamot, [etc.].”

During the segment Fast Talk, Jodi asked Richard what was the craziest thing he did for love to which he answered, “going against my parents.”

She also asked him for 3 words to describe her and he replied, “witty, lovable and a joy to be with.”

On another note, Jodi revealed she believes in second chances, “pwede dahil may mga narinig naman ako ng mga istorya ng dalawang magkasintahang nagkahiwalay and then after some time, nagkakabalikan din sila, so posible.”

Jodi also confessed she is no longer in a relationship with Jolo Revilla, “No, we’re no longer together butJoloRevilla we are friends.”

Jodi was formerly married to Pampi Lacson but the two filed for annulment in 2011 after 6 years of being together.

A few months after the separation, Jodi began dating Jolo. The two were very private about their relationship.

Rumors about their shaky relationship began in 2014 but in an interview with PUSH, Jolo said everything was ok between them.  (C. Malonzo, push.com)
