  • After almost four years,
    Charice Pempengco is back on
her old Twitter account @OfficialCharice on Wednesday, January
    20. The singer’s Twitter account
    was reportedly hacked in 2012.
    Charice now only has over
    945,000 followers.
In a recent post, she urged
fans to bring it back to 1 million
    followers.
To celebrate her return on the
    social networking site, Charice
    held a “#TwitterParty” with her
fans, and enjoined them to ask
    random questions via the hashtag”
    #AskCharice” and was game to
    answer fan questions from her
    hair to building a snowman.
    In 2013, Charice shocked
the world, after she admitted on
TV that she was a lesbian. Again,
the singer drew a lot of bashing
from netizens, forcing her to delete her Twitter account.
Charice, or Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco in real
life, was born in Cabuyao City,
Laguna. She is now 23 years
    old.
At age 12, she joined ABS
    CBN’s singing contest Little Big
Star in 2005 and placed 3rd.
Charice rose to popularity after being discovered through YouTube by American TV personalities
Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey, who called her “the most talented girl in the world”.
In 2010, she made a guest
    appearance on the American hit
TV series Glee as Sunshine Corazon, and she released her first international album Charice which
included her most successful single Pyramid; she is expected to release a new album in 2016.•
