  • Rotary Club of Vancouver Mountain View jointly with Philippines Historama Society of BC and Pinoy Fiesta, Unang Hirit launched “Alkansiya ng Bayan”, a year-round fund-raising campaign to help the Philippines during calamities.

Specially marked Rotary boxes (fondly called piggy banks) will be placed in strategic locations in Greater Vancouver stores, restaurants, and supermarkets being patronized by the greater Filipino community. Donation of a few cents, a few dollars, even a small change from the pockets, can be dropped off In these boxes. As the saying goes – “Isang Pera isang araw, kung maipon marami ang matutulungan.”

Funds will be collected on a monthly basis and will be deposited in a special account with the Rotary Club of Vancouver Mountain View (RCVM).

RCVM is in talks with Rotary Clubs in the Philippines which will be the collaborators. With the help of Rotarians from the Philippines, when calamity strike, the funds will be disbursed directly to those most in need.

It will be a Samsonian effort to help all. But as it is believed – WE CAN’T HELP EVERYONE, BUT EVERYONE CAN HELP SOMEONE.
