  • Surrey, BC – For the third year in a row, the City of Surrey was selected to host a Treat Accessibly event, a nationwide initiative dedicated to ensuring an accessible Halloween experience for everyone, regardless of their abilities. This year’s Treat Accessibly event was held on 69A Avenue in Surrey on Oct. 26, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

“For the third consecutive year Treat Accessibly has brought its inclusive Halloween Village to Surrey,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Every child should be able to enjoy the magic of Trick-or-Treating and it was wonderful to see Newton streets come alive through this initiative again. This event not only spreads excitement and wonder, but also aligns with the City of Surrey’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all.”

The City of Surrey encourages homeowners to Trick-or-Treat from their driveways to show support for their neighbours with children with mobility, sensory or intellectual disabilities and to give all families a way to start opening their minds by thinking accessibly on Halloween and beyond.
