    Surrey, BC – The Drive & Dish Basketball Season 2 UMAC Express Cargo Cup kicked off in style last March 26 (Sunday), with 16 teams, sponsors, and basketball lovers packing the venue for what would be a season to remember. The atmosphere was electric as the teams were introduced and the sponsors tipped off the ball to mark the beginning of what would be weeks of intense basketball action.

    The tournament, organized by Drive & Dish Basketball, is a celebration of basketball and the talent of young players. The teams, made up of players from different backgrounds and skill levels, displayed their passion and dedication to the game. Each team demonstrated their strengths, with fast breaks, strong rebounding, and precision shooting.

    One of the highlights of the league was the presence of sponsors UMAC Express Cargo CEO Mr. Larry Baguisa, Mr. Marlon Parel (Realtor) and Mr. Rey Fortaleza (Philippine Asian News Today) , who added excitement and value to the event. With their support, the tournament was able to provide opportunities for talented young athletes to showcase their skills and inspire them to pursue their dreams.

    The league also provided an opportunity for the different teams to build camaraderie and sportsmanship. The competitive spirit was evident on the court, but they also showed respect and support for each other, making each game a display of teamwork and respect for the game.

    Overall, the Drive & Dish Basketball Season 2 UMAC Express Cargo Cup Kickoff was a resounding success. It was a testament to the passion, talent, and hard work of everyone involved – from the organizers of the league, to the players and sponsors.     Founders of Drive & Dish Basketball Club John Raganit and Kurt Kristian Asuncion – explained the intent of Drive & Dish Basketball. Drive & Dish Basketball is a non-profit sports club that was founded with the goal of promoting unity, camaraderie, and personal growth through the game of basketball. The founders believe that basketball has the power to bring people together, by breaking down barriers and creating a sense of belonging that transcends individual differences.

    As a non-profit organization, Drive & Dish Basketball is committed to giving back to the community by providing opportunities for youth, adults and seniors to engage in sports activities that promote health and well-being. The club also aims to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship through its programs, which include instructional clinics, recreational leagues, and competitive tournaments.

    In essence, the objective of Drive & Dish Basketball is to create a positive and inclusive sports environment where individuals of all skill levels can come together and grow as individuals and as a community. By fostering a love for the game and a respect for one another, the founders hope to inspire a lifelong passion for basketball and a commitment to serving others.

    We can’t wait for the weeks of exciting basketball action to come, and to see how the teams will battle it out until the finale. There will be no shortage of heart-stopping moments, unforgettable performances, and heroic feats of athleticism.
