  • The pair are now engaged, a month after first publicly confirming their relationship

Newly-engaged couple Derek Ramsay and Ellen Adarna may have initially denied that they were dating – but Derek said that their chemistry has been “undeniable” from the start.

In a Wednesday, March 31 Instagram post, Derek shared photos of his proposal to Ellen, along with a message for his now fiancée.

“Since the day we first met [Ellen] the chemistry between us has been undeniable, it’s so strong that i have to catch my breath at times. I’ve always said that love is intangible, something you can’t see or touch…but now I believe otherwise. The chemistry between us that has left me reeling at times has made me see, feel, and grasp this unexplainably deep love I now have.”

“When I look at you I see love and when I touch you I embrace love,” he said, adding that he was honored that she said yes to his proposal.

“Thank you for loving me and allowing me to love you,” he wrote, punctuating with 3 heart emojis.

Derek proposed to Ellen on March 30, about a month after they publicly confirmed that they were in a relationship. The two were rumored to be dating since January, but initially said that they were just friends.

Derek was recently in a relationship with actress Andrea Torres, though he confirmed their breakup in November 2020. He was also previously married to model Mary Christine Jolly, with whom he shares a son.

Ellen was previously in a relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz. She gave birth to their son, Elias in 2018. – Rappler.com
